THE HUMAN EXHIBIT: MENTALHEALTH

‘The Human Exhibit: Mentalhealth’ is a new performance art style that I’M Entertainment is exploring. Curated by Ian Nathaniel and Dhinesha, this performance art will be themed MENTALHEALTH.

What exactly is this? Think fine art gallery. ‘The Human Exhibit’ is one journey that the audience will take to watch different representations of certain mental illnesses. Instead of looking at paintings/sculptures, there will be a human representation of the mental illness in the form of dance, spoken word, dialogue, scene, movement, etc.

A GRIMM FAIRYTALE

Little Red Cap and her wolfy encounter. Rapunzel and her Prince. Hansel and Grethel battling the wicked witch. We've all read these fairytales at some point of our childhood. Experience a different take on these fairytales. Combining the usage of video and theatrical elements, A Grimm Fairytale captures a more urban take on these stories, while also playing around with the theme of illusion versus reality. Adapted from The Brother Grimm Fairytales and performed with only a screen as its backdrop, this production will tackle “happily ever after” by pushing the limitations of the stage, the actor and the silver screen.

THREE. - A PHYSICAL THEATRE PRODUCTION

What is the meaning of our existence? Do our ordinary lives make a difference? Will we look back with regret and feel that we contributed nothing significant in our lifetime? Or will we rejoice with all the accomplishments that we have made throughout?

This is a story, beginning at the end, where all these questions are put forward. The people we've met, the things that we've done and how much of it is accounted for at the end of the day.

Told entirely with body language, this story shows us that there is still one last chance to correct the wrongs in our lives and to forgive and forget. In the end, what we say doesn't really matter. It's how we mean it. And how we show it. Language is of no more importance, but instead, it's the sincerity of our hearts that come to play.

A physical theatre piece.

AFTER OUR'S

After Our's is an edgy relationship comedy about several couples from all walks of life having troubled conversations after sex.. It's a humorous, yet honest look at the complexity of modern day relationships. Through witty dialogue and compromising situations, the play takes us from the beginning of a relationship to the aftermath of one, examining every stage in between while somehow finding humor within the drama, heartache and confusion of it all.
